Wayzata Free is a healthy congregation that is energized about the Kingdom work the Lord has laid out before them. Listening to God, one another and through appointed times of prayer, they have crafted a new focus: We will together invest our lives to live and share the Gospel to every generation with a focus on the younger generations. To achieve this, leadership is moving forward with three intentional resets to match their focus and future: a name change, a governance change, and a staffing change that includes the hire of a full-time Executive Pastor. This leader will have the opportunity to come alongside Pastor Kevin Meyer in an effort to see this vision actualized, strategically aligning, developing and empowering staff, and implementing plans.
The incoming Executive Pastor will bring a ministry background and experience that shows how they empower and bring out the best in others. He or she will feel called to the “second chair,” thriving as they come alongside a gifted, experienced visionary Senior Pastor. The right fit will serve as a competent hub for the team, keeping people connected to one another and confidently orienting them on mission. The church needs an Executive Pastor who is skilled at implementing the vision with a team, keeping it anchored, aligned, and focused. Open to innovation and creative thinking, he or she will invite the team to ideate, collaborate, and engage in dynamic team-based ministry.
Wayzata Free Church is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America (https://www.efca.org), has an attendance of 650, and began more than 50 years ago as a neighborhood church. Presently, more than 60 percent of the attendees travel over five miles to attend. Wayzata Free Church is located nine miles west of Minneapolis, Minnesota on the border of Plymouth and Wayzata, two suburban communities that are well known for highly-rated public schools and well-established neighborhoods.
