Fox Valley Church in Carpentersville, IL is entering an exciting season of growth and opportunity. With a healthy congregation, strong ministry foundation, and expanding reach, Fox Valley Church (FVC) is seeking a seasoned, energetic Senior Pastor who combines spiritual depth and compelling biblical leadership with organizational sophistication. The next pastor will inherit significant momentum and have the opportunity to build on a trusted legacy of the former pastor while leading FVC into a new season of growth, discipleship, and community impact.
The Big Idea
For more than 30 years, Pastor Tom Atchison has led Fox Valley Church through a remarkable season of growth, from approximately 75 worshippers to approximately 650. Today, four services are stretching the church’s capacity, prompting construction of a new worship center and significant renovations scheduled for completion in summer 2027. Theologically conservative, mission-oriented, and warmly relational, FVC is led by a 10-member staff team and supported by an elder-led governance model. Its highly visible location is surrounded by significant residential development, positioning the church for continued growth in the years ahead. Engaging worship and a strong Life Group ministry are central to congregational life, with discipleship expressed through a “1:1:1” framework—participation in worship, volunteer ministry, and a Life Group. With a strong foundation, expanding facilities, and significant ministry momentum, FVC is poised for an exciting new season of Kingdom impact.
The Candidate
Fox Valley Church seeks a biblically grounded, Spirit-dependent Senior Pastor who combines warm, expositional, life-application-oriented preaching with a shepherd’s heart and strong organizational aptitude. Relationally curious and genuinely interested in knowing people, he will lead with confident humility, develop and empower staff, translate vision into action, and navigate growth and change with wisdom. He will honor FVC’s strong foundation, build trust, and lead this healthy, growing congregation into its next season of discipleship, outreach, and Kingdom impact.
