Set on the northwestern shore of Geneva Lake, Calvary Community Church in Williams Bay, Wisconsin, is a healthy, growing, multigenerational congregation ready to welcome its next Senior Pastor.
The Big Idea
For more than a century, Calvary has been a gospel-centered presence in the greater Lake Geneva and Walworth County region. With a strong preaching culture, capable staff, thriving next-generation ministries, financial strength, and a church family hungry to know Christ more deeply and make Him known, this is a compelling opportunity to steward meaningful momentum and help shape a faithful next chapter. Calvary does not need to be rescued or reinvented. The foundation is strong, the church is unified, and there is substantial ministry capacity already in place. Growth has created the opportunity to strengthen alignment and systems without losing the relational warmth that has long defined the congregation; deepen a culture of life-on-life discipleship; develop and release leaders; and continue moving the church from a “come and see” mindset toward a “go and tell” posture. The right Senior Pastor will honor what God has done, listen well, build trust across generations, and then lead with clarity and courage. This is a church ready for a leader who can help maximize what God has already entrusted to it for even greater Kingdom impact.
The Candidate
The right Senior Pastor will first be a man whose leadership flows from a deep, dependent, and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. He will be prayerful, humble, and grounded in Scripture, with a consistency between public ministry and private life that creates trust. Calvary values substantive, expository preaching, so this leader will be a gifted preacher and teacher who communicates biblical truth with theological depth, clarity, conviction, and practical application. He will also be a genuine shepherd who enjoys people. This leader will be approachable, emotionally intelligent, and comfortable relating across generations. He will also know how to lead leaders: developing staff and lay leadership, strengthening alignment, clarifying priorities, and entrusting meaningful ministry to others. He will listen before prescribing, honor Calvary’s legacy without being bound by it, and bring a deeply missional, disciple-making heart that equips people to live on mission.
Location
This region combines small-town character, natural beauty, and easy access to larger-city amenities. The greater Lake Geneva area offers strong educational options and a family-oriented pace of life with restaurants, shopping, services, and year-round activity, while Milwaukee, Madison, Rockford, and Chicago are all close by. Calvary draws people from many communities, giving the next pastor and family the opportunity to put down roots in a collection of connected communities while investing their lives in a growing region.
