The Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) is eager to welcome a high-capacity and proven organizational leader to serve as the Executive Vice President of International Ministries. Working closely with the Office of the President Team and an experienced international leadership team, this individual will have the opportunity to strengthen and grow the impact of ReachGlobal, the international mission of the EFCA.
The Big Idea
With hope and optimism building, the incoming Executive Vice President (EVP) will have the rare opportunity to help strengthen and shape the future of a well-established global ministry for generations to come. The man or woman who fills this position will collaborate with senior leaders to shape vision, build alignment, and ensure ReachGlobal is a healthy, thriving, and integrated ministry of the EFCA. ReachGlobal’s focus statement is to invest in disciplemakers to establish the church where the gospel isn’t known. The EVP will be called on to unite diverse ministries and global teams under a shared vision and common missiological framework to continue to see this focus statement realized. A fresh, focused vision will serve as the foundation for renewed unity and purpose. The EVP will be called on to communicate vision with clarity, identifying goals and priorities, setting boundaries, and valuing accountability so the organization and its missionaries can thrive. ReachGlobal desires to grow, but healthy organizational structures and clear focus are needed to do so. Working collaboratively with the Ministry Leaders Team (MLT), the incoming leader must help determine what to do—and what not to do—fostering order, alignment, and unity so energy is directed toward the most fruitful opportunities.
The Candidate
It is essential the incoming leader possess the experience necessary to lead effectively within the complexities of a diverse international mission. The ideal candidate will bring proven organizational acumen as well as a deep missiological understanding of global mission theology and practice, formed through personal experience living on the mission field. Excellent communication abilities and relational strengths are also essential in this role. The incoming EVP must be approachable, authentic, and adept at building trust across teams, contexts, and cultures. He or she will communicate with clarity, empathy, and inspiration—helping missionaries, leadership teams, churches, and supporters understand both the “why” and “how” behind decisions and direction. The right leader for ReachGlobal will anchor discernment and decision-making in prayer, integrity, and dependence on the Lord, modeling steadiness, spiritual and emotional maturity, resilience, and joy in the face of challenges and complexity. He or she will possess both cultural intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills, inspiring confidence and support from those they lead.
