After the recent departure of their previous Lead Pastor, SonLight is ready to welcome a new leader who will help them cast a refreshed vision, be relationally present, and lead them into a new season of impact and ministry. SonLight is strategically located and ready to minimize leadership turnover and regain momentum as it looks to the future. This brings a unique set of challenges and opportunities to integrate new attendees while bringing stability and leadership to the existing congregation. As a church that highly values biblical preaching and relational engagement, this next pastor will have the opportunity to lean into strong communication gifts. Oversight of staff, collaborating with the elders, rebuilding outreach to the local university, and being present in the community are all exciting elements of this role that make it attractive and life-giving to the right leader.

Casting a clear, compelling, and consistent vision while working with elders and others, the Lead Pastor will possess a keen understanding of best practices and how to integrate them within the context of SonLight and the cultural DNA that exists in the community. The ideal candidate will maximize the good things that are already happening, bring fresh ideas of what can improve the ministry, and what can bring greater impact.
SonLight is located in Angola, Indiana a town of 9,000 people on hour northeast of Fort Wayne. Home to Trine University, the town is a dynamic mix of campus and community. With fantastic neighborhoods, a “college town” district, abundant lakes, and an appreciation for the beauty of all four seasons, the Angola area is a lovely place to call home.
