With a mission to make passionate, maturing followers of Jesus from here to the nations, Bay Area Community Church in Annapolis, Maryland is seeking to hire its first ever full-time Local Outreach Pastor/Director. This new ministry leader will join a thriving team as this expanding multi-site congregation of 1,600+ leans into all of the amazing opportunities God has placed before them.
Local outreach at Bay Area is an incredible ministry opportunity that is brimming with potential. Global missions and missional living are ingrained in the DNA of this Christ-centered community, and while Bay Area has historically been known for its strong and impactful Global Missions Ministry, local outreach has had a tendency to be overshadowed. The current state of local outreach has been described as “undefined” and “lacking vision.” An energizing presence, clear direction, and personal passion to reach those that do not know Jesus is needed to spark momentum and move this ministry forward.
Bay Area Community Church is a non-denomination church of around 1,600+. It offers three services in two locations each weekend, plus two online services. The overall experience of weekend services is a vibrant, rich blend of warm community, solid biblical teaching, and dynamic worship.
The new Local Outreach Pastor/Director for Bay Area will be an approachable and warm leader who is passionate about reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This experienced leader will know how to cast a compelling vision and be energized by the opportunity to come into a healthy church context and add to it. This leader will bring an ability to assess and measure, while collaboratively working with others to discern the best objectives and outcomes for the church.
Nestled alongside Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis is the state capital of Maryland. The historic downtown is a unique mix of stately historic homes, brick streets, charming boutiques, and sidewalk cafes. Here you will find a unique diversity of people and neighborhoods, socially, racially, and economically. It is not uncommon to pass newly built large homes and Section 8 government housing on the same block as one walks through town. An easy commute to Baltimore and Washington, DC, Annapolis is a diverse city that feels urban and suburban. People here are warm, hospitable, and relaxed.
