Door Creek Church in Madison, WI is a healthy and transformative multi-site congregation of nearly 2,000 people with a vision to be a Christ-centered church for all people, where the power of the gospel is continually transforming lives, renewing our city, and changing the world.
After 17 years of faithful, dynamic ministry, Lead Pastor Marc Maillefer is prepared to step down on May 1. Under his tenure, the church has grown to four locations: Sprecher Road, DeForest, Northside, and Online. The incoming Lead Pastor will be called on to embrace and appreciate the distinct way Door Creek has developed as a multi-site congregation, fostering and supporting these unique locations with a fresh vision for the future. It will require continued attentiveness and flexibility to ensure each aspect of Door Creek is developing in ways that are meaningful to that community.

The people have a drive toward outreach, service, and making a tangible difference in the lives of people in Madison and beyond. In tandem with these external motivations, Door Creek is known for excellent, biblically-grounded preaching and authentic worship. Door Creek desires their Lead Pastor to speak the truth in love, delicately balancing perspectives when speaking into the challenges and nuance of cultural moments, social issues, and difficult topics impacting the church through the lens of Scripture.
The ideal candidate for Door Creek will walk with God consistently and passionately. He will be an experienced pastor who leads the church from the overflow of a vibrant, personal faith walk. He will be a man of the Word and prayer, humbly walking with God and listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit for direction and discernment personally and for the vision of the church. As pastor and organizational leader, this individual will keep the main thing the main thing by preaching and teaching the Word of God effectively, relevantly speaking to the challenges and questions that arise from society, culture, and everyday life.
Situated between Lakes Mendota and Monona, Madison, Wisconsin is a beautiful capitol city that combines an urban vibe with small-town friendliness. The metro area is home to nearly 700,000 residents. Politically progressive, Madison is known to be a progressive “blue” city in a more conservative red state. The University of Wisconsin is a center for many activities while numerous parks and lakes provide a playground for outdoor activities including biking, swimming, sailing, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing.
