The NL Moore Story
Our founder, Nancy Moore, came to faith as a 19-year-old college student through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. Soon after, she got plugged into a local church where she found community, discipleship and development. As her faith matured, she understood three things: she had a gift of leadership, a call to ministry and a deep love for the local church.
After serving in ministry for nearly 20 years, Nancy launched NL Moore & Associates in 2006 with a passion to help local churches take the guesswork out of their most important leadership decisions. She recognized that every transition of leadership creates a stop and start to the momentum of ministry and mission.
Helping local church leaders move through these critical seasons as seamlessly as possible felt like a great reason to get up and go to work every day.
Nancy was fortunate to be mentored and developed by several exceptionally talented church consultants including, Russ Crabtree, author of The Elephant in the Boardroom, who wrote one of the first books published on pastor succession planning. The wisdom of their experience infused Nancy with a core value for understanding the vital intersection of theology, culture and circumstance when coming alongside a congregation, candidate or team to assess for “fit.” This value continues to shapes how we work with churches, pastors and boards today.
In 2014, she expanded her operation to a team-based model and began to build her company into what it is today: a national, multi-staff, boutique style consulting and search firm with a well-known reputation for a high ministry EQ, warm professionalism and exceptional results. These qualities are grounded in a genuine love for the local church and respect for pastoral leadership. It is in this spirit that we continue to press on toward the goal to which God has called us: to help His church thrive.
