New Covenant Community Church, Lincoln, NE is eager to welcome an authentic, energized, and relationally gifted pastor as they write the next chapter of their story. This is an exceptional opportunity for the right pastor to take a strong, healthy church to the next level of ministry.

Pastor Tim Johnson led New Covenant Community Church for over 22 years until a major illness forced an early retirement. The church is predictably sad about this loss and has demonstrated great care for him in this trying season. But Pastor Tim left a strong, vibrant body of believers who are ready to tackle the next season of ministry. They are a healthy, multi-generational body of believers whose passion is to focus on Jesus and serving the community. Since its founding in 1985, its spiritual investment in Lincoln has left an indelible fingerprint on the city. New Covenant is a church that majors on the majors and doesn’t get bogged down in unfruitfulness by focusing on secondary issues. They believe their mission boils down to helping people discover genuine faith, develop authentic relationships, and deploy for meaningful impact. They believe the future is bright and seek a high-capacity leader to take them to the next level.

The next pastor for New Covenant will be a positive, humble, and energetic leader who sees possibilities. He will be a well-educated, engaging, and energetic Bible expositor who winsomely communicates the Word. He will strive to make Jesus the subject of conversation but will not be afraid of speaking the truth in love, especially on the harder texts. The next leader will have a vision for impacting the community and the world. He will know how to lead a highly competent staff of ten people, empowering them to grow in their calling and ministry areas. Relationally warm, the incoming pastor will love shepherding people of all ages, ethnicities, and viewpoints.
