College Park Church (CPC) in Indianapolis, IN is eager to welcome a Lead Pastor who will love them and lead them into the new, expanded, and strategic ministry God is calling them to as a church family. This is an exceptional opportunity for a pastor to enter into the CPC story and use his strengths and gifts to help this church discover fresh ways to achieve its mission of igniting a passion to follow Jesus, while embracing and building upon the many fruitful ministries offered here.
The Big Picture
CPC is a thriving, diverse, and dynamic community of believers at the intersection of the city and suburbs. People love their church, and clarity about Core Values contributes to the health and vitality of the congregation. These values are: Pre-eminence of Jesus, Authority of the Word, Redemptive Community, Biblical Unity in Diversity, Extravagant Grace, and The Call to Go. The incoming Lead Pastor will be called on to orchestrate and empower, along with three Executive Pastors, a talented, committed staff of 65 individuals. He will serve as a “first among equals” alongside a unified Elder Council of 37 men.
The Candidate
The Lead Pastor will enter into the church as a learner, taking time to listen, ask questions, and build relationships. He will gain insight into the church’s distinctives and staff culture as well as the greater Indianapolis area. He will desire to uphold College Park’s commitment to the authority of the Scriptures and to declare the gospel to the lost. He will seek to foster biblical unity in diversity, support biblical counseling, and deeply desire to reach all nations with the good news of Jesus Christ. Humility, teachability, and a process orientation that values excellence are characteristics that will fit in well here. In preaching, the Lead Pastor will be a pastor-teacher with a shepherd’s heart who is able to minister to a broad demographic of people and provide solid, theologically robust, and Scripturally-based teaching with culturally relevant application.
