First Evangelical Free Church of Las Cruces, NM (www.efclascruces.org) is ready for a new Lead Pastor and has a keen sense of anticipation and readiness for a renewed future. They are eager to welcome an experienced, authentic, energized, and relational pastor to lead, inspire and love them as they write the next chapter of their story.
Nearly 15 years ago, First EFC anticipated a time when they would make a bold step forward in faith. They purchased eleven acres on the growing southeast side of the city, just a mile from New Mexico State University and adjacent to an area with more than 1,000 new homes and no churches. Their “Dripping Springs Road” property represents as much potential for the future of First EFC today as it did when it was initially purchased. The congregation is looking for a Lead Pastor who will help them grow and reach their community, especially young families. They need a pastoral leader who brings a caring, shepherding approach; someone who will get to know them personally, guide leadership discussions, develop a fresh vision that will unify them, and
enact a plan of action.
EFC is looking for a Lead Pastor who is a confident yet humble servant leader; someone who actively demonstrates an abiding relationship with Jesus that motivates others toward the same. He will teach God’s Word with passion and a commitment to biblical integrity, anchoring messages in Scripture while drawing out application that is relevant to everyday life. The ideal
candidate will work with other church leaders to craft a vision and strategic plan that builds on the historic and current strengths of the church while maximizing resources and aligning people toward the future.
The city of Las Cruces is a great place to call home. It offers incredible natural wonder, year-round access to great biking, hiking, and golf, as well as a variety of fun activities for the family. The community is diverse with 54 percent of residents being Hispanic. The city is home to just over 100,000 residents, many of whom are employed by NASA, White Sands Missile Range, or New Mexico State University. This perpetually sunny city has grown by almost 40 percent in the last 20 years. Resting peacefully beneath the stately Organ Mountains to the east and the mighty Rio Grande to the west, Las Cruces is a family-friendly oasis in the high deserts.
